Project Manager – (Aerospace Domain) _ Bengaluru

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex aerospace projects, with a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance with DO-178C (Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification) and/or DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware) standards. The ideal candidate will be technically astute, possess exceptional project management and team leadership skills, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects within the stringent regulatory framework of the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities:

  • Take technical responsibility for the successful delivery of Time and Material / fixed-price projects, typically involving teams of 20 to 30 engineers, ensuring adherence to DO-178C and/or DO-254 processes and objectives.
  • Ensure all project activities are undertaken in strict accordance with agreed quality, cost, and delivery objectives, with a primary focus on achieving and maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (DO-178C/DO-254).
  • Meticulously capture and ensure comprehensive compliance with the technical requirements of the customer and Front Office, specifically considering the implications for software and hardware development and verification in line with DO-178C/DO-254.
  • Be responsible for the formal validation of delivery acceptance, ensuring that all deliverables meet the required DO-178C/DO-254 quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Proactively organize and lead customer and Front Office meetings, effectively communicating project status, risks, and compliance efforts related to DO-178C/DO-254.
  • Be fully accountable for project delivery across Time, Cost, and Quality, with a strong focus on meeting the rigorous standards mandated by DO-178C/DO-254.
  • Closely monitor project progress and strategic direction in collaboration with the Customer and Front Office, ensuring alignment with certification milestones and deliverables required by DO-178C/DO-254.
  • Maintain a strong focus on Customer Satisfaction, ensuring that all project activities and deliverables meet or exceed expectations within the context of aerospace certification.
  • Drive and implement improvement plans to enhance project delivery efficiency and compliance with DO-178C/DO-254 standards.

People Management:

  • Identify and appoint competent Project Leaders within the portfolio, ensuring they understand and can effectively implement DO-178C/DO-254 processes within their respective projects.
  • Validate project delivery needs and the adequacy of the team and individual team members, ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills and understanding of DO-178C/DO-254 for successful certification.
  • Monitor the technical skills of the team, particularly in areas related to DO-178C/DO-254 (e.g., software verification, hardware validation, requirements traceability), and ensure appropriate technical and project training is provided.
  • Define the project organization and service delivery model to effectively meet customer and Front Office requirements while adhering to DO-178C/DO-254 guidelines.
